I’m not quite sure how to begin explaining my experience with the TAFTA program, but I’ll do my best to capture it here. My name is Uzoma Atubi. I’m an entrepreneur and freelancer, and I recently completed a course on sound design with TAFTA. At first, I wasn’t sure if the sound design course was the right step for me. But I’ve always been interested in planning shows and collaborating with artists, so when I stumbled on TAFTA’s sound design course, I thought it might be the perfect way to build my sound skills.

The course was comprehensive. From sound effect creation to audio mixing, setting up equipment, and seamlessly integrating soundscapes, it provided everything I needed to understand the art and craft of sound design. My grasp of sound design concepts and techniques has really grown through this program. If you’re interested in planning shows, music mixing, live event production, show promotion, content creation, or working directly with artists, this course is definitely worth taking. Don’t just take my word for it—experience it yourself.

Currently, I’m working as a talent manager, and I’m planning a show for December 2024 to showcase and promote my artists. I’m banking on the knowledge I gained from TAFTA’s course to make the show an unforgettable experience. TAFTA has already given me the platform I needed. Now, it’s up to me to keep improving until I reach the peak of my career.

One last thing: in this creative industry, I’ve always looked up to Bolanle Austen-Peters and Onyeka Onwenu. They’re my role models, and I hope to one day create work that reflects the level of impact and artistry they bring to the industry.
