The Terra Academy for The Arts (TAFTA) continues to transform lives, and Kano is witnessing an incredible wave of change. Now in its 10th cohort, TAFTA Kano has trained nearly 5,000 women, equipping them with creative and entrepreneurial skills to build better futures.

The program offers hands-on training designed to help women gain financial independence and career growth. Participants receive training in five key courses: Scriptwriting, Animation, Sound Design, Stage Lighting, and Art Business & Entrepreneurship. These courses provide both technical expertise and industry insights, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to enter the workforce or start their own ventures.

Through intensive workshops and mentorship, TAFTA equips women with practical knowledge that helps them navigate the creative industry with confidence. Many graduates have already started their own businesses, secured jobs, or expanded their creative talents. From developing compelling scripts to mastering animation techniques, the training empowers them to bring their ideas to life. The sound design and stage lighting courses further open doors in media and event production, while art business and entrepreneurship provide essential skills for managing creative enterprises.

The impact of TAFTA’s initiative extends beyond individual success stories. By fostering a community of skilled women, the program contributes to Kano’s growing creative economy. With each cohort, the numbers grow, and the success stories multiply. The energy in Kano is undeniable, as more women step into opportunities that were once out of reach. Their newfound skills not only transform their personal lives but also inspire others to take bold steps toward their dreams.

TAFTA, with support from the Mastercard Foundation, remains dedicated to ensuring that every woman gets the chance to thrive. The academy continues to refine its curriculum, incorporating industry trends and technological advancements to keep its training relevant and impactful.
