In a bid to address the shortfall of women creatives and youth in work in Kano, Terra Arts for the Academy TAFTA, Kano embarked on a learning train at Madobi and Mariri in Kumbotso local government. Madobi and Mariri are located close to the heart of the state capital Kano city. They both have various education and vocational institutes.
The learning train is an effort to bridge the creative and entrepreneurial gap, TAFTA Kano took it upon themselves to take the learning train to the rural community to enroll and train the youths especially women on various modern business development techniques and entrepreneurship skills and also to introduce to them the creative industry skills like script writing, stage lighting, sound design and animation
There was a huge turnout of women and youths for the learning train and they were enthusiastic about the business development session hosted by our Business Development associate Mr Yahuza Attah.
After several hours of enrollment and training, about 65% of the participants that enrolled for arts and business enterprise got on the spot training on business development while the remaining participant more interested in script writing, sound design, stage lighting also got basic training while they were being scheduled for practical training at out training and learning center in Saadatu Rimi University of Education Kumbotso.
